I took some stuff you pointed out in your response into consideration, and I'm gonna try to re-read the story sometime during this weekend. I actually really liked certain parts of it, and it was mainly the last few chapters that I didn't enjoy (except the very last scene, which was great). So I'll definitely try to pick out some examples of things I liked, and things I didn't, so I can give you a more detailed review. I love your writing and I appreciate your response to my review! I'll get to back to you with a new one ASAP :~)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the willingness to do that. I like to see where my flaws lie in order to improve them. But I am glad to see that you did like some of it. I personally see this story as a step back from the tense Harley/Joker dynamic, telling the tale of a woman who is lost and needs to find her real home. The other characters are set there to challenge Harley's perception in one way or the other, to guide her final decision. And while she will always be Mr. J's, she is also her own person, beautiful and flawed, and someone needed to tell her that. To remind her that beneath the darkness, there can be light. Thomas was that for her, even if his reasons started off as lies. Sorry, I'm babbling. Again, thanks and cheers!

Sorry to say that this sequel rather disappointed me. Harley on her own was strange enough, but the whole thing with Hush was just strange and the plot soon became overcomplicated and nonsensical. The dialogue got to be pretty lazy, and I really wasn't a fan of the Joker's characterization in this story. I still love Repression though, a lot:),so hopefully the next sequel will be more promising.
Author's Response: Sorry to hear that! It's not for everyone and I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as Repression. The first story was very intimate and I wanted to move away from that setting and expand more into the outside world. More importantly, this story was about Harley fully accepting her role and learning to see the world as Mr. J does. I wanted to create a relationship for her that could show a vulnerability that she could never have with Mr. J, hence Thomas Elliot.
The plot definitely got a little convoluted in places, I agree, but I tried to make it as clear as possible in the end and I dropped a ton of clues throughout. But I do disagree that the dialogue was lazy. I spent a great deal of time going over the dialogue to ensure it fit each character. It wasn't the same quick back and forth as Repression but I found it to be more honest and naked. I would love if you pointed out some examples as to where you found issues. I am always striving to improve my writing.
If you didn't like this one, I'm not sure if the new one will be your cup of tea either. I stick to a similar characterization of the Joker, although the story puts Harley back to her roots. But again, it will have a lot of outside elements. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers!

I know I've already said this once but I've just read Repression and Corruption again and they are the most amazing pieces of Fanfic I've ever seen. The plotline and characters are as developed as a published novel. Every bit of originality that you have brought to Harley and the Joker's relationship has worked at an incredible level. I could really go on praising you until the cows come home but really. Really. Good job.

Ever since my first review of Repression, I have gone from feeling a bit uneasy about rather or not I liked the direction it was going in; to full on loving the story. Though I must say I wasn't expecting you to go anywhere with Hush. I just figured it was meant to be a cute little inclusion of his character. Oh, and I also liked the reference to The Killing Joke with Barbara Gordon. I don't know why I didn't pick up on it in Repression, but after having it spelled out for me in the second chapter, I got it.
Can't wait to read more.

When I first wrote Repression, I didn't know I'd write a sequel but I did know if I ever did, that I wanted Hush in there as he's one of my fav DC villains. I do love putting nods to comic canon in my stories as I think it's important to acknowledge where the concepts came from. Plus, the Killing Joke was one of the best graphic novels DC ever released, so I couldn't help myself :) Thanks so much for continuing to read!

I am so happy with this story!!!! At first I wasn't sure if I would like it because after she left Mr. J I just wanted to punch a wall, but god damn that was great. You had me fooled the whole time and it made me angry thinking she really was going to be without him forever! The ending was my favorite, reminding me of my fiance and I. It showed their REAL love and I couldn't be happier. Again I say, after my review on the first one, why aren't you making millions with this?

I knew it would be frustrating but at the same time, so much of what makes Harley and the Joker great is that they try to leave or kill one another at some point or another. And the fact that I drew such an emotional response from you, even if it was anger, meant I was doing my job right :) Still not making millions but working on the first full chapter of the sequel right now.

There, I really like a lot of pieces although I find the Crane pieces on there more interesting for some reason. On here, anything by PrincessBee is good for comic book Joker/Harley. There are many good stories. I recommend hitting the top tens for the best of the best.

I like your story, especially your depiction of Harley's psychology. It says a lot about her when she makes the Joker seem stable and calm :D. Harley has been my favorite figure in super-hero-comic-genre for a long time because of the depth of her character; yours is probably the best depiction of that character ive yet come across.
Anyway, as a guy, its a bit wierd to read sex scenes written by a woman :D. But I like their relationship. Although I disagree with the ending: I don't think that the Joker would accept her as an equal, her position might improve somewhat though.
The plot was rather indecipherable but I don't the "detective novel" plot structure was ever the main point. It served to make Joker look like a genious for figuring it out, though, which is ok.
Anyway, I was inspired by this story to draw something :D

A new and (improved?) Harley Quinn. I decided to try and give her some "mob enforce from hell" appearance and somewhat more plausible (ish) body-shape.
Author's Response: I like the drawing. It's pretty cool. I agree with you that the Joker will never consider her an equal. But since that section was from Harley's point of view, it's her vision of Mr. J's actions. She's blinded by love. If I do a sequel, she'll definitely see she is not his equal. Merely an extension of his will in the world.
Thanks for the feedback on the plot. The story was intended to be a roller coaster of Harley's mental states primarily, although the entire plot with Thomas' manipulation was intended from the beginning, clues dropped throughout the story. And yes, I wanted the Joker to be the genius man of it all.
And thank you for the compliments on Harley. I'm glad you enjoy my depiction of her. An just fyi, you'll find most smut scenes are written by women. :) Cheers!
